Welcome to Drums For Beginner!. This course aims to provide the practical and theoretical tools to get you started on the drums. It includes technical exercises, a step-by-step system to read drum kit notation, development of fundamental rock drumming beats and fills, and songs to play along to. It is designed to work through systematically from beginning to end - upon completion the student will be more than ready to begin Grade 1 with any exam board. While primarily aimed at younger students (age 7 and up) this course suits anyone wanting to start their drumming journey. There is over 5 hours of content divided into 11 lessons. Each lesson is delivered in realtime to simulate an actual drum lesson, giving you the chance to learn and absorb information, as well as play along in time with the teacher. Course Content Lesson 1 - Basic drumstick technique, counting, crotchets and crotchet rests, first drum beats, play-along song "1...2...3...4!". Lesson 2 - Quavers and crotchets, counting, basic rock beat. Lesson 3 - Fills, rock beat variations, play-along song "Acacia Groove". Lesson 4 - More parts of the drum kit - tom toms and hi-hat with foot, moving around the kit, hand and foot coordination, play-along song "Bolero". Lesson 5 - Play-along song "Percussion Junction", more rock beat variations. Lesson 6 - Cymbals - ride cymbal and crash cymbal, incorporating cymbals into beats and fills, play-along song "Rock Shop". Lesson 7 - Rudiments - single strokes, double strokes, single paradiddle. using them to move around the kit, coordinating them with the feet. Lesson 8 - Semiquavers, counting and technique, semiquavers around the kit and incorporating the bass drum, play-along song "The Journey". Lesson 9 - More rock beat variations using the tom toms and cross stick, play-along song "Sunny Daze". Lesson 10 - New rhythms combining quavers and semiquavers. play-along song "Hop Hip". Lesson 11 - Play-along song "Are You Ready?"
